The MMA community reacted to Quillan Salkilld’s victory over Jamie Mullarkey at UFC 325 earlier tonight.
By 2025, Quillan Salkilld had achieved highlight reel knockouts in return for Anshul Jubil and Nasrat Haqparast. But tonight, to kick off the main card in style, Salkilld decided to do things differently.
In front of his home crowd, the Aussie pulled off a first-round stoppage, this time forcing his opponent’s tap with a rear-naked choke at 3:02 of round 1.
Mullarkey showed good takedown defense in the opening minutes of the first frame. However, he was taken down again and once back on the mat, Salkilld sank into the rare rear naked choke, enough to seal the night.
The 26 year old revealed during the octagon interview that wrestling wasn’t part of the original game plan.
After extending his promotion record to 4-0, the Australian 155-pounder now wants a top 15 opponent and is also aiming for a quick turnaround.
