Ferguson (25-11 MMA, 1-0 Boxing) returns to action for the first time since scoring a third-round TKO win over Salt Papi last August in Manchester (see that here). The former UFC interim lightweight champion will attempt to claim the promotion’s undisputed middleweight title tonight at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.
Meanwhile, Warren Spencer (2-0 Boxing) was most seen in action a few weeks ago at FCS 2, where he scored a second-round knockout victory over Sladan Janjanin. Prior to that triumph, ‘The Mechanic’ suffered a submission loss to Dillon Danis in an exhibition MMA bout.

The first round begins and both men come out orthodox and start exchanging jabs well. Warren Spencer appears to have a speed advantage, but Tony Ferguson is the aggressor and is holding him back. Ferguson lands a left. He changes stance and lands with a right. ‘El Cucuy’ with more pressure and now another right hand. Great comments from the former UFC interim lightweight champion. He ends the round with a good combination.
Round two begins and Tony Ferguson is back at work with his jab. ‘El Cucuy’ with a nice left hook. He used a lot of volume early on. A big right hand stuns Spencer. He pulls away and Tony smells blood. Warren Spencer desperately forces the clinch and then complains about a shot to the back of the head. We restart and Ferguson lands another big shot and Spencer goes down! The influencer can beat the count and the bell rings to end the round.

Round three of ‘Ferguson vs. Spencer’ starts and Warren comes out swinging. Tony Ferguson taps him with the left and he is injured again. Spencer tries to grab on, but ‘El Cucuy’ is released and is back within range. Spencer throws some wild punches, but Ferguson once again finds a home for a major left-wing party. Warren covers up, but the bell sounds to save him for now.
Round four of the Misfits 23 co-main event begins and Warren Spencer takes a jab. He knows how to counter with a nice right hand. And he lands another. Ferguson continues to press, but Spencer tags him with another right. Ferguson seems to be taking it a bit easier. Yet he is now right on the bell.
Round five starts and Tony Ferguson comes forward quickly and lands a nice punch. Spencer with a good right hand in front, but then another jab from ‘El Cucuy’ follows. Warren spits out his mouthpiece and has apparently lost a tooth. The referee steps in and asks if he’s good and we continue. Ferguson with a huge shot just before the bell and it looked like Spencer was on his feet.
