Milos Sarcev may be 62, but the former Mr. Yugoslavia and Mr. Universe still love the thrill of the pump. This became apparent when ‘The Mind’ shared a video on Instagram on January 20, 2026 of him lifting seven plates on each side of a hacker. “I was like, ‘oh boy!’” Dennis “The Menace” James said upon seeing the clip. “Tonight he’s in bed with his hips screaming.” Instead, Sarcev praised the hackers for the comfortable feeling, and explained why it works so well for him.

With a hip replacement and wear and tear on his knees, heavy lifting wouldn’t be for everyone, but for Milos Sarcev, the thrill of lifting a heavy weight isn’t an experience he’s willing to leave behind. Still, during the show he explained the reason for choosing the Hackpers, and the differences between this machine and the very similar hack squat in terms of comfort.
Although both machines look almost identical, Sarcev says the movement between the two is not even close. “This is smooth,” Sarcev noted. “My knee messed up big time, and then I had a spine problem, (but) I don’t even feel it,” the bodybuilder-turned-coach said of the hacker repeat. “Zero pain.”
Okay, so how can you tell the difference between a hack press and a hack squat at your local gym? The difference concerns how your upper body is supported towards the top of the machine. The hack squat has pads that go over your shoulders, while the hack press has pads that support the back. In other words, the pads are lower on the hackpress. During the episode, Sarcev pulled out the video of his inspiring session and took James and Raymond through the process.
“This is the first time I’ve done it with seven records in a long time,” The Mind revealed, admitting that he was super scared of getting under that kind of weight again, but quickly found his rhythm. To get a deeper squat, Sarcev took off some plates for subsequent sets, saying the machine was super effective at targeting his quads. In the demonstration Sarcev used the NEWTECH Torture Hackers. “Super smooth, I tell you,” the bodybuilding legend explained. “You feel the weight.”
