However, it represents only part of the growing optimism around Charlotte this year, as Roderick Boone of the Charlotte Observer writes.
The Hornets have become one of the most popular teams in the league. They went 17-6 in their last 23 games, building momentum after years of inconsistency and rebuilding.
With young talent developing rapidly and the team playing a more confident, fast-paced style, there is a clear sense of renewed belief among both the locker room and fanbase as Charlotte continues its rise in the Eastern Conference standings.
“It’s a different atmosphere,” Miles Bridges said. “We go to away games and their teams are loud and cheering along. And we didn’t have the same at home.”
“Some people showed up, but now it’s like everyone shows up and shows us love… Shout out to the fans that have been with us before and shout out to the fans now.”
