As for some recent releases that hint at the fact that there’s a big fight coming up soon that they’re going to announce for Perry in Florida against a big name, ‘The Marine’ pondered what matchup could possibly be next for the King of Violence, as Richman said [via Bare Knuckle Bowker],
“Yes, I mean [Mike] Perry, we all know he likes big money fights, and rightly so. So you have to look at the landscape of, okay, who’s not under a UFC contract or something? Who could he fight? You know, is it Darren Till with bare knuckles? Who knows? I mean, is Nate Diaz still under contract? I mean, he has a lot of options with big name value outside of the current roster at BKFC.
“He has a lot of options and he can say, ‘Show me the money.’ So we’ll see. You know, we all go our own way. You know, there are times when I look back and think, “F**k, dude.” I could have had the world of bare knuckles at my fingertips too. But we make little missteps and falter here and there. We’re just trying to get back up and climb back to the top.”
Mike Perry will fight his biggest name “times 5,” according to David Feldman
Mike Perry has defeated big names in BKFC like Eddie Alvarez, Luke Rockhold and Michael ‘Venom’ Page, but the promotional figurehead has announced a matchup that will eclipse the entire no-gloves ledger.
Addressing that topic in an interview with MMA fightingDavid Feldman stated:
“We’re probably aiming around the May area. It’s a big name. It’ll be the biggest name it will be [Mike Perry] once fought five times. Huge name. It’s going to be incredible.”
“We’re going to fight here in Florida. Like I said, we’re going to break martial arts records, we’re going to break the Florida martial arts record in May. 100 percent.”
“A name that everyone knows. Everyone will be a little surprised by it. But it’s a big name and it’s going to be a big event here. Mike is from here, so we want to do a homecoming with him. It’s going to be a huge, big name here in the Orlando area. It’s going to be big.”
