The Mets will ask Kodai Senga to keep working on his engineers at Triple-A while the club is working on Jonah Tong’s confidence.
Senga receives another start with Syracuse, said Carlos Mendoza manager on Saturday, after a strong first start in which Senga needed only 74 throws to throw six innings in which he allowed one point on three hits without walks and eight strikeouts.
Subject to an injury to another METS Werster, the former AAS – whose long -term struggles and problems with mechanics have caused the relegation – cannot be added to the active schedule until next Saturday.
But the first step for Senga in his attempt at comeback was “very good,” Mendoza said.
“The most important thing is that he threw strikes, he attacked,” Mendoza said a 3-2 loss against the Rangers on Citi Field. “Almost every pitch worked.”
Not so for the tongue, which was drilled for six points while recording only two in the loss of Friday. After his third career match, the 22-year-old was emotional and looked shocked.
Mendoza said he spoke with tongue after the game and again on Saturday morning, and he was not alone.
After the guy: “The whole team was immediately supported there,” said Mendoza.
“It was quite told that I would see all the veterans – almost the entire team – support him [Friday] Night, “he added.” It shows that we not only have really good players, we have really good people here. ”
What the next one is for tongue is not clear. Mendoza said, “From now on” is tongue in the rotation, which was his answer when it was also asked to Sean Manaea last week.
The Mets have an off-day Monday where they intend to talk through what is now a six-man rotation with different questions. It is possible that a few starting pitchers are asked to work together.
Only Levity: Before the alumni classic, Carlos Beltran was on stage between Jose Reyes and Carlos Delgado and thinks about the 2006 Mets of that short shots.
“We are not going to the World Series,” said Beltran. “Everyone knows what happened.”
Before he could continue, Reyes cut: “What happened?” He asked several times to laugh.
Beltran Strikeouts Of course looking for an Adam Wainwright Curveball that sent the cardinals to the World Series.
“He didn’t change at all,” said Delgado about Reyes.
Pete Alonso hit a single in the first and fifth innings for his eighth multi -hit game since 26 August, the most bound in the Majors in the wingspan.
During this piece he has a sloping line of .316/.346/.539.
The Mets announced that they will wear a uniform patch in honor of Davey Johnson during the following season.
