In an even race, Messerati was driven perfectly by James Locke, who cornered Messerati with one out and one back. Master Gouda found the lead, but surrendered when favorite Kimcando went around the field to take the lead.
Just Rollyourown was one out and two back, while Cortez, who had some support, was back at the back.

Locke made his run on Messerati who challenged the leaders in the final corner. Kimcando had a hard time and then split up, which hindered Master Gouda and Alta Equus.
It was a tough finish on the home straight, with Messerati giving enough to beat the fast-finishing Mirador Lass, who came from last on the last lap and flashed home alongside Just Rollyourown.
MESSERATI JAN 10 REPETITION
Messerati is trained by Steven Lee who is based in Crookwell near Canberra, so the trip was well justified. The winner received a mark of 1.59.8 for the 2386 meter journey.
Messerati has been a great performer since he started his career as a two-year-old and from his first outing when he won at Charlton in April 2018, the veteran has raced a further 172 times for 24 wins and just under $240,000 in stakes.

Temora’s cup evening turned out to be a great success for the hardworking committee. This was the second of their five meetings this season. Their remaining meetings are on February 10 and March 3 and their end date is Monday, April 6, Easter Monday, where they should have a good holiday crowd.

The club recently spent $60,000 on track and rail to meet the required standards. However, in 2027 they will only be allocated two meetings for the season.
