Mercedes opened a study in July after a report from noise from the steering system. Engineers determined the sound of a separate steering coupling.

Mercedes also heard that there had been a gap during production, “offered the possibility for employees to accidentally leave vehicles in the steering shooter process.”

Although only one warranty claim has been received, Mercedes has announced the recall because a potential safety risk can exist.

About 560 of the vehicles are recalled in Canada.

Mercedes-Benz expects EQE and GLC recall letters to email on October 17, 2025, then dealers will tighten the steering coupling bolts if necessary.

Mercedes-Benz EQE and GLC owners can contact the automaker on 800-367-6372.
