Edmonton Oilers Center Connor McDavidPittsburgh Penguins Center Sidney CrosbyColorado Avalanche Center Nathan MackinnonAvalanche defender Cale Makar and St. Louis Blues -goalkeeper Jordan Binnington belong to the 42 players who are invited to the Orientation Camp of Canada, which will decide its last 25-man selection for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics in February.
The camp will be held in Calgary from 26-28 August.
The men’s tournament starts with preliminary matches on 11 February, with the Gold-Medal game planned for February 22. This is the first time that NHL players have been participating in the Winter Olympics in Winter since 2014.
At the Olympic Games, each team traditionally carries 14 attackers, eight defenders and three goalkeepers.
Six players were mentioned in the schedule of Canada June 16: Crosby, Mackinnon, McDavid, Makar, Tampa Bay Lightning Center Brayden Point and Florida Panthers forward Sam Reinhart.
Among the guests are 22 players who played for Canada in his victory in the 4 Nations Face-Off last February, including McDavid, who scored at 8:18 in the extension in a 3-2 victory against the United States in the championship game.
Panters forward Sam BennettHe scored for Canada in that competition together with Mackinnon, and Binnington, who made 31 saves, were also invited to participate.
Among the guests are eight no. 1 picks in the NHL design, including San Jose Sharks Center Macklin Celebrini (2024), Chicago Blackhawks Center Connor Bedard (2023), McDavid (2015), Panthers defender AARON OAK LEAF (2014), Mackinnon (2013), Edmonton Oilers Center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (2011), Toronto Maple Leafs Center John Tavares (2009) and Crosby (2005).
