Mazda has officially discontinued the CX-3 in Japan, with production of the compact crossover set to conclude at the end of this month. The CX-3 was first unveiled in 2014 and is one of the oldest models in the company’s range.
While the company is still accepting orders for the two variants of the CX-3 offered in Japan, this will end once the maximum number of orders is reached, according to a statement on Mazda Japan’s website. The price for the model there is between 2,704,900 and 3,315,400 yen (approximately RM68k and RM84k).
The CX-3 still lives on in Malaysia as it has been fully imported (CBU) from Thailand since 2022 – it was previously sourced from Japan. Currently, our CX-3 is available in three variants, namely the 2.0G 2WD Plus, priced at RM126,159, and the 2.0G 2WD High at RM139,159 – both figures are on the road without insurance.
There is also the 1.5G 2WD Plus, which is listed on the spec sheet but not seen in the price list as of November 1, 2023. A previous price list from when the CX-3 was updated in December 2023 showed the 1.5G 2WD Plus at RM115,720. In addition to Thailand (our BT-50 also comes from there), the CX-3 will continue to be produced in Mexico.
