Jeeno Thitikul
Jeeno Thitikulthe world number 1, enters the Maybank Championship in brilliant form with three LPGA victories in 2025, including the PIF Saudi Ladies International, Mizuho Americas Open and Buick LPGA Shanghai.
The consistency of her season is highlighted by top results in the majors and a second-place finish in the KPMG Women’s PGA, and she has previously had solid form in the Maybank.
As her game has matured, Thitikul’s confidence in closing out tournaments has increased, making her one of the leading contenders this week.
Sei Young Kim
Sei Young Kim ended a five-year trophy drought with victory at the BMW Ladies Championship in October 2025, adding to a season that already saw eight top-10 finishes and a strong showing in the global rankings.
Historically, she has excelled in tournaments in Asia, and her adaptability makes her a perennial threat at Maybank.
Lottie Woad
Lottie Woad burst onto the LPGA scene in 2025, posting five top-10 finishes, a win and impressive results in majors.
Her highlights include a third-place finish at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and T3 at the Amundi Evian Championship, as well as victory at the Scottish Open.
Woad’s mix of technical improvement and world ranking racing poses a serious threat at this week’s Maybank Championship.
It was called Hataoka
It was called Hataoka enters Maybank week on the back of a season in which she made 17 of 19 cuts, achieved five top 10s and finished second in the BMW Ladies Championship after a fiery final round.
Although she is yet to record a win in 2025, Hataoka’s low rounds and consistent performances in the majors – including two top ten finishes – show she can handle pressure well.
Historically, Hataoka has posted solid results in deep-court Asian events and her careful tactical refinements give her renewed poise for a big breakthrough.
Miyu Yamashita
Miyu Yamashita‘s rookie LPGA campaign in 2025 was extraordinary, highlighted by her first major victory at the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Porthcawl and nine top-10 finishes.
Her form relies on exceptional accuracy – third on greens in regulation and fifth in fairways – to compensate for her shorter driving distance.
