Ukrainian flying weight Maryna Moroz was suspended for a year after a violation of the UFC-Anti-Doping policy, the promotion announced on Tuesday. The 33-year-old Jager tested positively MoldoniumA forbidden substance classified as a hormone and metabolic modulator, during two separate outside competition screening that were performed earlier this year.

Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD), which manages the UFC anti-doping program, collected Samplers from Moroz on 25 June and 16 July 2025, which both yielded positive results for the forbidden substance. The organization stipulated that both findings are a single violation, because Moroz was not informed of the first positive test before the second sample was provided.
The suspension of Moroz was with retroactive effect until July 17, 2025, when she was first informed of her provisional suspension, which made it eligible to return to the competition on July 17, 2026. The veteran hunter has not participated since March 2024 when she had a split loss of decision for Joanne Wood on Joanne Wood UFC 299. This meant her third consecutive defeat, after losing to Karine Silva and Jennifer Maia in 2023 and 2022 respectively.
According to the official statement of the UFC, Moroz medical documentation provided that shows that it was under the care of a recognized doctor who prescribed Meldonium to treat reported medical symptoms. However, CSAD noticed various critical supervision of Moroz’s dealing with the situation. CSAD reduced the suspension of Moroz from the standard biennial fine to one year based on its full cooperation during the study. The organization considered proof that Moroz Meldonium used for a limited time and had no planned attacks during its period of use. This cooperative approach resulted in a reduction of 50% of the standard sanction for meldonium violations.
From January 2024, the UFC replaced its previous partnership with the Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) of the United States by a new framework managed by CSAD, led by former FBI Special Agent George Piro. This change followed years of controversy and public disputes between USADA and the UFC on test protocols and the eligible of athlete.


Moroz has a 6-6 record during its UFC official period since debuting in April 2015 with an entry victory in Joanne Calderwood. Known as ‘The Iron Lady’, she has provided remarkable victories against hunters, including Mayra Bueno Silva and Mariya Agapova, in which they earn two version of the night bonuses. Moroz is the third UFC hunter who is confirmed that he has tested positively this year under the new CSAD framework and joins Douglas Silva de Andrade and Danylo Voievodkin.
