Maple Leafs prospect checkpoint: How has Noah Chadwick fared through the five months of 2025-2026?
The 20-year-old was called up from the Western Hockey League by the Maple Leafs after playing junior hockey with the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Prior to Chadwick’s fourth and final season with the Hurricanes, the defenseman was named team captain, becoming the 32nd captain in Hurricanes franchise history. Through 212 career games in the WHL, Chadwick totaled 32 goals and 100 assists for a career plus-minus of 30. Chadwick showed growth during his final two seasons at the junior hockey level, recording 56 points in 66 games in 2023-2024 and 53 points in 66 games in 2024-2025.
Upon completion of his third season, Chadwick was invited to Hockey Canada’s World Junior Summer Showcase following his 56-point year. At the end of the season he played in one game with the Marlies before seeing the successful season come to an end.
Chadwick spent the entire 2025-26 season with the Marlies, appearing in 44 games, scoring three goals and 12 assists and sporting a minus-five rating. The 15 points put Chadwick tied for 10th on the Marlies this year and tied for second with Henry Thrun among all defensemen, behind only William Villeneuve. Of all Marlies rookie skaters this year, Chadwick has recorded the third most points, while Chadwick’s 15 points also rank sixth among all rookie defensemen in the AHL.
With 27 games remaining on the Marlies schedule, Chadwick will be looking to finish the year strong as the left-handed shot defenseman’s game continues to grow. Chadwick turns 21 in May and it will likely be a few more years before he gets a chance at the NHL level.
With two more players, Ben Danford and Victor Johansson, brought in during the 2024 draft, both in higher rounds, Chadwick’s game will have to continue to evolve to stay on the Maple Leafs’ radar in the coming seasons.
