Both players were reportedly offered in exchange to the Red Devils as part of Chelsea’s bid to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Old Trafford.
Ultimately, a £40 million deal was agreed to sign Garnacho, with no players going to Manchester as part of the deal.
ESPN have reported that United have turned down the chance to sign Lavia or Nkunku as part of the deal.
Although highly rated, Lavia has struggled with injuries since joining Chelsea from Southampton in 2023 on a £53million contract. The 21-year-old has played just twelve league games in that time. Lavia previously came through the youth training system at Manchester City.
United also turned down the chance to sign Nkunku, who later left Chelsea for AC Milan. The France international failed to justify his £52million transfer fee at Chelsea and scored six league goals in two injury-hit campaigns in west London.
He moved to Milan on a long-term contract in the summer and scored once in eight games for the Italian side.
