Manchester United are reportedly considering an ambitious move to sign a top young talent from one of their big rivals in the Premier League.
The Red Devils could do with some reinforcement in midfield at the moment, and it looks like one name on their list is Andrey Santos from their big six rivals Chelsea.
This is evident from a report by Football insideralthough Chelsea are not considered likely to sell a prospect like Santos to someone like Man Utd.
The Brazilian is highly rated after an impressive loan spell at Strasbourg, and you can imagine Chelsea will be keen to make more use of him soon.
Yet it is also true that he faces a lot of competition at Stamford Bridge, with the 21-year-old unlikely to get past Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo any time soon.

Given Santos’ situation, it might make sense for United to keep him in mind as a potential option in the middle of the park.
Even if The Blues Don’t want to sell to a rival, they may have to take Santos’ situation into account as he certainly won’t be content to sit on the bench for too long.
Santos has shown that he is good enough to play regularly at the top level, and he could certainly have a huge impact at Old Trafford.

United could look to bring in a long-term replacement for the aging Casemiro in the near future, while Manuel Ugarte hasn’t really been good enough and could do with a replacement as well.
There would be a clear key role for Santos in Ruben Amorim’s side, and the same cannot be said of his situation at Chelsea.
Yet Pete O’Rourke previously told Football Insider: “I would be very surprised if Chelsea were even considering letting Andrey Santos go, especially to a Premier League rival in Man United.
“He is a young top player, he is very highly regarded within the balance of power at Stamford Bridge.”
