Haaland has been on Real Madrid’s radar for years, but 2026 could be the time he moves to the Santiago Bernabeu. There has been movement in recent weeks that could spark a blockbuster transfer.
Erling Haaland supported Man City’s move to Real Madrid
According to Football insiderKeith Wyness expressed his belief that Haaland has a very good chance of leaving Man City next summer, amid Real Madrid’s preparations to sign him.
“Haaland has a contract until 2034, so it would take him to decide he wanted to move and Man City to decide they want to cash in on him. There is a lot of talk about Vinicius Junior’s move from Real Madrid to Saudi Arabia. The rumored £200 million for Vinicius Junior could be one thing that would give Real Madrid the power to make a bid for Haaland.”
“The rumors are that Real Madrid are in talks with his agent, and all they are doing now is asking: if we have come with an offer, do you think there is a chance that he will be interested? And it is not outside the realm of possibility that, despite this long contract, a deal can be done. If Vinicius Junior leaves, as I said, it will create a domino effect and make it feasible. So there is probably a little more to it than meets the eye first glance.”
“I could see Haaland leaving at the end of this season. He has obviously scored a lot of goals for City and it may be time for him to move on. Maybe he wants to go to Real Madrid for four or five years. I would say it is still unlikely, but I think there is more to this than just a touch of fantasy. There is something to it.”
For now, Man City will be hoping Haaland stays for many years to come, and that contract is certainly covered.
