Tottenham Hotspur was connected to a movement for the attacker Savinho in Manchester City during the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old has struggled for regular playing time at the Premier League club, and he may have to continue to play more often. Tottenham checks his situation and they could look to take a step for him in January.
Tottenham to sign Savinho?
Pete O’Rourke said on Football Insider: “If he does not play regularly between now and January, then that might open the door for Tottenham to regain their interest in Savinho.
“He will think that he may have to play a World Cup with Brazil.
“City doesn’t really want to lose him. I am sure that at least they want to keep it until the end of the season, because City needs Savinho between now and then and also challenges all fronts.
“I am sure he will have enough playing time, but I am sure that Spurs will certainly follow his situation in the city.”
The Brazilian is not an important player for Manchester City, and it will be interesting to see if he decides to continue in January. He could be a very useful acquisition for Tottenham.
Savinho wants to be part of the Brazilian national team for the coming World Cup, and he has to play regularly at club level. Tottenham will be able to offer him that opportunity during the second half of the season. If Manchester City cannot give him the guarantees he needs, it would be ideal for the player to continue.
Where does Savinho end up?
Tottenham will try to take advantage of his situation in Manchester City and get the deal. If they can sign him for a reasonable amount, this can be an excellent acquisition for them. He is young enough to improve further and he could develop into a future possession for the club.
It will be interesting to see if Manchester City can convince the player to continue in the club. They must regularly offer him opportunities between now and the January window.
