Mahindra & Mahindra’s total car sales rise 26% to 1,20,142 units in October

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd on Saturday reported 26 per cent growth in total car sales to 1,20,142 units in October this year.

Domestic passenger car sales grew 31 percent to 71,624 units in October, compared to 54,504 units in the same month last year, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M) said in a filing with the regulator.

Sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market stood at 31,741 units, a growth of 14 percent, the report said.

“In October, we achieved SUV sales of 71,624 units, a growth of 31 percent, which is the highest SUV sales we have ever achieved in a month,” said Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of M&M’s Automotive Division.

In agricultural machinery, M&M said total tractor sales reached 73,660 units in October, up from 65,453 units in the same period last year, an increase of 13 percent.


Domestic tractor sales stood at 72,071 units, up from 64,326 units in October 2024, an increase of 12 percent, the report said. Exports amounted to 1,589 units this month, a growth of 41 percent compared to October last year. “A good monsoon, combined with the benefit of the GST rate cut announced in September, has supported the strong performance in September and October 2025,” said Veejay Nakra, president of M&M’s Farm Equipment Business.

Going forward, he says factors like timely initiation of Rabi sowing and good progress in Kharif crop augur well for tractor sales. PTI
