The Premier League champions made it four wins in a row on Saturday, beating West Ham 5-2 at Anfield and moving within three points of third-place Aston Villa.
Liverpool are starting to click when it matters after a difficult period earlier in the season, losing just two of their last 21 games in all competitions.
Mac Allister has now scored two goals in as many games and, in conversation with BBC Sportshe is confident the Reds will peak at the right time.
“Over the past four or five months, teams have been showing what they can do,” said Mac Allister.
“That’s what we want. We know how important it is to qualify for the Champions League for the club and for us as a team.”
“The goal is there and we will do everything we can to qualify and get closer to the teams at the top.”
Mac Allister also focused on the importance of Liverpool continuing their momentum as the season progresses, helped by last year’s title win.
“Now that we spend some time together, it’s easier for us, we understand each other,” he added.

“We know how important it is to qualify as a team for the Champions League. The goal is there and we will do everything we can to qualify and be closer to the teams at the top.”
“The gap is smaller with Aston Villa and all the teams at the top. We are very happy with the result and we have to keep improving.”
Premier League race for the top five: where Liverpool stand

Mac Allister’s optimistic attitude is justified, as Liverpool enjoys a positive two weeks in the battle for Champions League football.
They are just three points behind a Villa side that is losing momentum, so third place should be seen as a realistic target.
That said, Man United may be the narrow favorites to finish there, not least because no European football gives them a week off between games.

They look a different force under Michael Carrick, even if it may be a short honeymoon period and the trip to Old Trafford in early May will be huge.
Chelsea are also in the mix, but are able to drop sloppy points and they are the outsiders to finish in the top five.
Fifth place is expected to be enough for Liverpool to qualify for the Champions League thanks to the performances of English clubs this season, but they must aim higher than that.
Slot’s team still has to compete against Man United (A), Chelsea (H) and Aston Villa (A) in the final weeks of the season, matches that will prove decisive for their European objectives.
