Liverpool record highest turnover of all English clubs
For the first time, Liverpool are the Premier League’s top earners, after posting revenues of €836.1m (£727.4m), ahead of Man City (€829.3m), Arsenal (€821.7m) and Man United (€793.1m).
According to Deloitte’s Football Money LeagueLiverpool are ranked fifth globally, with broadcast and commercial growth driven by their rise in the rankings.
Only Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain performed better than Liverpool, who capitalized on their success both on and off the pitch by using Anfield for concerts.
It marks a steady rise for the club, although it may not sit well with calls for at least one signing this month, but none appear to be imminent.
Man United, meanwhile, have fallen to bottom in the Money League, sitting eighth globally and behind domestic rivals Liverpool, City and Arsenal.
A total of nine Premier League clubs feature in the top 20. West Ham’s position at number 20 speaks volumes about the purchasing power of the league!

Liverpool FC: On this day
The day after turning 17, Phil Thompson signed as a professional for Liverpool on January 22. 1971.
As a supporter on the pitch, he would become one of the club’s greatest ever defenders. He made 477 appearances and was club captain for three years.
With two European Cups, seven league titles, two League Cups, the FA Cup and the UEFA Cup, he is a bona fide legend.
The Kirkby-born coach also went on to coach at Liverpool, spending time under Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness and Gerard Houllier.
