Liverpool -Manager Arne Slot has revealed that Ibrahima Konate sustained a potential quad injury during Saturday’s defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The Reds fell on a late Estevao Willian-in-in after Cody Gakpo Moises Caicedo’s stunning first half had canceled opener.
The result means that Liverpool has fallen to second place in the Premier League table, a point behind new leaders Arsenal after the Gunners at home defeated West Ham United.

“I don’t know if it’s a big injury,” said Slot in his press conference after the game. “He was a little bit. I asked him and he felt his quad.
“It was a replacement that I already had in mind, because the right middle behind had a lot of possession and we had to create from that position. Ryan is pretty good at that.
“It might be good that he left early enough.”

Liverpool is left lightly at the back if Konate has to spend every time on the treatment table after Giovanni Leoni had been cruciate ligament last month against Southampton in the League Cup.
That luminaire was the only time slot to have played its centerbacks this season, the Dutchman of which was a risky decision.
“When I rotate to Gala, people complain that I rotate,” he said. “It’s a risk of playing. Konate played three games in eight days. That is the balance you have to find.
