Arsenal, meanwhile, sit second and first in both categories after conceding just five and scoring 15 from set-pieces, which has played a major role in their title challenge.
Slot is convinced set pieces are the only thing Premier League teams need this season.
“I would almost say that in today’s Premier League this is the only quality you should have, to play well from set pieces,” the Dutchman said on Saturday ahead of Liverpool’s FA Cup fourth-round tie with Brighton.

When asked if his opinion on the importance of set pieces had changed, Slot replied: “My first thought is ‘no’ because I said it is impossible to win a big game with a negative set piece balance. And in the Premier League now every game is a big game because of the strength of the competition.
“But looking at where the league has gone, I probably shouldn’t say ‘no’ and I should probably say ‘yes’ because I can’t keep going on about the importance of set pieces. It’s so important every day.”

“People ask me several times about the difference in our Premier League and Champions League performances now and the simplest answer is set pieces, because in the Champions League we are at the top in set pieces and in the Premier League we are at the very bottom.
“And that is also reflected in the rankings. The current Premier League is so much more about set pieces than last year.”
“Even though it was very important last season, it has now gone through the roof in terms of importance.
“It is actually impossible to win the competition with a balance like ours. You have to have a plus five, six, seven ten to even have a chance, even if you play well, to win the competition.”
