Bradley addressed the issue late on Thursday during the club’s goalless draw with Arsenal. The incident was the center of controversy, as Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli tried to push Bradley off the pitch as he lay in pain on the ground.
Martinelli later apologized for his actions, which were deemed “disgraceful” by full-time experts.
Liverpool have now revealed the extent of the problem. In a club statement, the Reds revealed that the Northern Ireland international has suffered a ‘significant knee injury’.
The club has said that ‘no timetable’ has been set for Bradley’s return, although he is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
Bradley will also miss Northern Ireland’s World Cup play-off campaign in March, and likely the tournament itself if the team qualifies.
“Liverpool FC can confirm that Conor Bradley has suffered a significant knee injury,” the statement said.
“The right-back suffered the problem in the latter stages of Thursday evening’s Premier League match against Arsenal.
“Bradley will undergo surgery in the coming days and then begin a period of rehabilitation at the AXA Training Center.
“No timetable is being set for his return to football at this stage of the process.”
