Zirkzee was expected to leave the club this month after struggling for first-team football.
The Dutchman has made just four Premier League appearances this season and was open to a move in January to boost his hopes of making the Dutch World Cup squad.
Roma were interested in bringing Zirkzee back to Serie A. The former Bologna striker was named Italy’s Young Player of the Season in his final season with his former side before moving to Manchester in 2024.
His time in the Premier League was a challenge. Zirkzee has scored just five goals in 46 league appearances for the Red Devils, while summer signings of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko have reduced his role.
However, Roma sporting director Ricky Massara has revealed that United have canceled all transfer talks between the clubs following the decision to sack Amorim.rashf The club are keen for a new coach to assess the squad before any sale takes place.
“Manchester United have now closed all doors with the management change,” said Massara.
“It seems very unlikely that Zirkzee will be signed now.”
