Sensex Today | LIVE Stock Market Updates, February 16, 2026: The GIFT Nifty indicated a negative start for the Indian benchmark indices. Futures traded at 25,459.50, down 59.30 points or 0.23 percent.
Key markets in the Asia-Pacific region fell in early trade on Monday, which is likely to weigh on Indian markets as well.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 traded 0.1 percent lower after data showed the country’s fourth-quarter GDP grew less than expected despite avoiding a technical recession. Japan’s GDP grew by 0.2 percent annually in the October-December period, against expectations of 1.6 percent annual growth.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was 0.67 percent lower, while Australia’s S&P 200 was 0.27 percent higher.
Financial markets in South Korea and mainland China are closed on Monday.
Last Friday in the US, the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.05 percent and 0.12 percent higher, respectively. The Nasdaq Composite ended 0.22 percent lower. Markets failed to stage a substantial recovery after US CPI data came largely in line with expectations. In commodity markets, gold and silver futures traded lower on Monday amid the holiday season in Asia. Gold and silver futures traded 0.12 percent and 2 percent lower, respectively. On the domestic front, stocks of Ola Electric Mobility, Titagarh Rail Systems, PTC Industries, Fortis Healthcare, CE Infosystems and Shakti Pumps will be in focus as they announce their third quarter (Q3FY26) results this weekend. No major company will release its third-quarter earnings results on Monday.
