Leafs lineup news: Knies absent from morning skate, playing Golden Knights, Woll starts

Matthew Knies was absent from the morning skate, but Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube confirmed the 23-year-old was out for maintenance and will play Thursday. Knies has scored 12 goals and 38 points in 43 games this season, but has not scored a point in his past four games. Bobby McMann skated with Matthews and Domi during Thursday morning’s skate.

“I really believe he attacks in the middle of the ice, he demands the puck in the middle of the ice, and he does a great job of using his size and speed to go through people,” Berube said of Knies ahead of Saturday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks.
Nick Robertson participated in the morning skate after missing Tuesday’s game against the Utah Mammoth due to a lower-body injury. Robertson suffered the injury after blocking a shot during the first period of Monday’s game. During the morning skate, Robertson was again placed on a line with Easton Cowan and Nicolas Roy.
Roy returns to Vegas after being acquired in the Mitch Marner trade. The 28-year-old won a Stanley Cup with the Golden Knights in 2023, scoring three goals and 11 points in 22 playoff games during their title run.
