Considering that the team has a loaded farm system, there is naturally a lot of speculation about the franchise’s prospects as possible trade chips. On the other side of the coin, given the team’s need for outfielders, many within the fan base have been pushing for some of baseball’s top prospects to take a look at the Dodgers coming out of Spring Training.

Fabian Ardaya van The Athletics recently completed a mailbag in which he answered questions from readers of the platform. The agricultural system inevitably came up, and Ardaya talked about who he thought could make an impact in the coming year. While Ardaya broke down the group of outfielders player by player, there are those who might be surprised by who he predicted could emerge in 2026.
“The top three should essentially be a top four of Josue De Paula, Zyhir Hope, Mike Sirota and Eduardo Quintero, who have broken away and represent some of the most intriguing names among their glut of outfield prospects. Of those four, De Paula could be the quickest to the big leagues, which, with another leap forward, could become a real talk in late 2026 or sometime in 2027, when he’s still only 22 years old. It could also happen or be Sirota, who is already 22 years old and could move soon in 2026. Hope could align with a similar timeline.
“But two outfield names that could appear before any of the four in the bigs both arrived in the same trade last July: James Tibbs III and Zach Ehrhard, who came from the Boston Red Sox for Dustin May. Keep those names on the radar, along with Ryan Ward, all of whom could debut.”
Ward makes the most sense considering he’s already 27 years old. He is coming off a monster season in Triple-A with the bat (36 home runs, 122 runs batted in, .290 batting average). Ehrhard has reportedly excited the franchise with his ability to play with great energy and effort.
Tibbs III may have the best ceiling of the group expected to emerge the earliest. The hit tool was a first round pick and is quite advanced for someone in their early twenties.
