~ ACE Dragflicker HarmanPreet Singh will lead the team as a captain ~
New Delhi, August 4, 2025: On Monday, Hockey India mentioned the 24-person Indian hockey team of the Indian men for the four-match tour by Australia from August 15 to August 21 in Perth. This will be an exposure tour for the most important Hero Asia Cup Rajgir, Bihar from August 29, a qualifying match from World Cup.
The Indian team will be led by Ace Dragflicker, defender HarmanPreet Singh and will have Krishan Pathhak and Suraj Karkera as keepers. Defenders in the team together with HarmanPreet his Sumit, Jarmanpreet Singh, Sanjay, Amit Rohidas, Nilam Sanjeep Xess, Jugraj Singh while Karnataka’s Poovanna CB comes in like a fresh face in the team.
Talented Young Midfielder Rajinder Singh, Who is of Likened to Stalwart Former India Captain Sardar Singh, Has Been Named In The Squad As Midfielder Along With Raj Kumar Pal, Hardik Singh, Manple -Singh, Whingh Handhand, Rabichande Mandep Singh, Shilanand Lakra, Abhishek, Sukhjeet Singh, Dilpreet Singh, Selvam Karthi and Aditya Lalage will join them as ahead.
About the importance of this Tour prior to the Asia Cup, head coach Craig Fulton said: “We are going to Perth Australia to sharpen Bihar’s cup in Bihar. The focus will be on improving our physical conditioning and technical performance through quality training and warm -up competitions.”
Fulton also spoke about testing young people in the team and gave them exposure prior to important trips. He said: “We brought in a number of younger players to put pressure on valuable exposure and test combinations. This camp is an important part of our preparation and an opportunity to build individually and team momentum before they compete at home.”
The Indian team leaves for Australia from Bengaluru on 8 August, where they are currently training on the Sports Authority of India (SAI) campus.
