In his latest article, three-time top 200 finisher Lateriser looks at the players and teams we should target ahead of Gameweek 16’s transfer supplement.
It’s been a quick turnaround in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) this week, just before we have the transfer addition in Gameweek 16, so I thought I’d take a look at some team data and the Fixture stickerin an attempt to bring up some interesting observations.
SEASON STICKER OVERVIEW: NEXT SIX GAME WEEKS

Liverpool and Manchester United are at the top, but how much confidence can we place in the assets of these teams? Unfortunately, I own two United midfielders, who I jumped on for the home games against Everton and West Ham United. All I have to show for it is pain. I’m pretty sure this is how holders of Muhammad Salah (£14.1 million) and Cody Agat (£7.5m) must also feel. As for someone like me, who owns it Bryan Mbeumo (£8.6 million) and Matheus Cunha (£7.9m) and I only have one free transfer available, for which I might sell one Phil Foden (£8.3m) or just give them one more match before figuring it out in Gameweek 16.
Brentford have a good run of games coming up. Of Jean-Philippe Mateta‘s (£8.1m) minutes have been looking a bit shady in recent weeks, many FPL managers have referred him Igor Thiago (£6.8 million). That’s completely understandable given his ‘rest’ against Arsenal. Manchester City are also at the top and score quite a few goals, which explains Foden’s popularity Nico O’Reilly (£5.2 million).
For those looking for a cheap defender: Joachim Andersen (£4.5m) has quite a run of fixtures over the next four gameweeks. Fulham also have some interesting budget midfielders. Samuel Chukwueze (£5.3m) is the most important, but he has the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) coming up soon. Harry Wilson (£5.2m) has two goals and two assists in his last five games.
Many of us have a third Arsenal spot open and will probably be shopping there next week. They have three home games in gameweek 16-19, as well as a decent long-term schedule. If you already own one David Raya (£5.9m) or JurriĂ«n Hout (£6.4m), adding another Arsenal defender isn’t the worst idea.
