The 47th edition of the Inside Information for older fillies and mares sprinting seven furlongs on the main track was the eighth of ten stakes, seven worth $5.675 million in purses, on a blockbuster Pegasus World Cup Day program anchored by the 10th anniversary of the $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1).

It was the fourth victory of the day for jockey Junior Alvarado and the third in a stakes after Knightsbridge in the Fred W. Hooper (G3) and Destino d’Oro in the Pegasus Filly & Mare Turf (G2). Grand Job and Knightsbridge were both trained by Hall of Famer Bill Mott.

Jody’s pride And One magical Philly raced together for a quarter mile in 22.63 seconds, while Grand Job finished in third place in the clear three wide. Grand Job ($6.20) forged a brief lead after the half went in 45.06, then shook loose from the competition to win by 2 ¾ lengths in 1:21.41 on a fast main track.

Sterling silver rose to take second, followed by Claret beret, Her smile, Dazzling movement, Beyond faith, NeedJody’s Pride, One Magic Philly, Indy Bay And Truth. Patricia Ann was scratched.

Grand Job, a 5-year-old daughter of Triple Crown champion Justify, finished second by less than a length behind Dazzling Move in last winter’s Royal Delta (G3) at Gulfstream, her only previous stakes attempt. She then won an optional allowance in March and was off until she set the pace by sprinting six furlongs on November 27.

The Inside Information honors the homebred daughter of Private Account’s Ogden Mills Phipps, who was the 1995 champion older mare. The Hall of Famer won the first of her nine graded stakes in the 1994 Bonnie Miss (G2), now run as Gulfstream Park Oaks.

$225,000 insider information presented by MyRacehorse (G3) Quotes

Winning jockey Junior Alvarado (Grand Job): “It was a great day. I’ve been on very live horses, good horses that I’ve ridden. This filly today has been ready for a while. She was ready for me today and I was just a passenger.”

Winning trainer Bill Mott (Grand Job): “We always felt she had it in her. You could see from Knightsbridge’s form and her form that when they won early on they were probably unchallenged. They came from girls and one-other-thans and looked quite good. Now that they’ve had time, they looked so good against the quality of effort. It was good to see. It was just down to her development.”
