Twin B Joe Fresh is recovering from surgery

Hightstown, NJ – Twin B Joe Fresh (Roll with Joe), who was scratched from her start in the Breeders Crown Mare Pace on Oct. 25 at Woodbine Mohawk Park, is recovering from surgery Tuesday (Nov. 4) at the New Bolton Center in Pennsylvania for a hairline fracture of her left front cannon bone, trainer/co-owner Chris Ryder said today. A CT scan on Monday revealed the injury, which was initially thought to be a bruised foot.

“She is doing well and the prognosis is very, very good,” Ryder said. “We would like to thank everyone for their concern and for following and supporting her. We are quite confident that she will be able to return at 100 percent, and as long as everything stays well, that we will be racing next year.”

Twin B Joe Fresh was the 2024 Dan Patch Horse of the Year and is ranked No. 6 in the most recent Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, making her the top-ranked older pacer in the sport. She reached the board in all nine of her races this season, winning six and earning $526,714. Her triumphs include a second consecutive victory in the Grade 1 Roses Are Red, as well as four additional graded stakes.

Throughout her career, the 5-year-old daughter of Roll With Joe-Fresh Breeze has finished in the top three in 47 of 49 races, with 36 wins and $2.86 million in earnings. She is owned by Ryder, driver Dexter Dunn, Pete Trebotica and Barry Spak.
