Simone McGurk from WA Labor has demanded the victory at the seat of Fremantle, but her independent challenger Kate Hulett says it is too early to explain the race.
From 6 pm on Friday, Mrs. McGurk was 491 votes for Mrs. Hulett on the basis of two -part parties.
At about 6:20 pm WA Labor was posted on social media and explains: “It is official, Simone McGurk has been re -elected as a member of Fremantle”.
But Mrs. Hulett’s team issued a statement shortly thereafter and claimed that the call was premature.
“It is disappointing to hear Labor trying to conclude the Fremantle race prematurely, since the competition is so close and the results have changed since the election evening,” said the statement.
“As the first candidate, I continue to ensure that every vote in Fremantle is counted and that every voice is heard.”

The chair has been a stronghold of work for decades, apart from a short period in which it was held by green-independent MP Adele Carles.
Mrs. McGurk has represented the area since the beating of MS Carles in 2013 and went in the elections with a margin of 27.3 percent.
Hulett raced in donations
Mrs. Hulett conducted a heavy campaign on local issues such as housing, homelessness and the revitalization of Fremantle, as well as environmental problems such as the gas industry.
She was the most well -financed independent in the race, with more than $ 134,600 in donations that were revealed on her website.

On Monday, Mrs. McGurk said that the swing she suffered was a lesson for the government about environmental problems.
“I think there is an urgency in our community, and that is mainly reflected in the mood at the weekend,” she told the ABC.
“We would be stupid not to pay attention to that.
“I think we should show people that taking care of the environment should not be at the expense of jobs, and in the same way it should not be at the expense of the environment.”
Climate promotion Promise
Mrs. McGurk said she would argue for climate action within her portfolios in the cabinet.
Mrs. Hulett hoped that the government took a similar message on board.
“This is the only chair where we had a community independent that challenged a labor member and a senior work Minister,” she said on Monday.
“And we walked on the environment, people and integrity and watch the swing.
“I think people should take a good look at this and listen to what we have to say.”
Rearrange
Mrs. McGurk who keeps her chair would free up the road for work to complete his cabinet next week.
The entire party room is expected to meet on Monday to designate three MPs in the cabinet, to replace ministers Sue Ellery, John Quigley and David Templeman, who are retiring in the elections.
Prime Minister Roger Cook is then expected to announce a recasting of portfolios on Tuesday before the ministry is officially sworn in on Wednesday.
