Kris Srikkanth finally bows to Harshit Rana after months of brutal criticism

Indian pacer Harshit Rana is largely credited with his first half-century when it mattered most for India. While former Indian selector Kris Srikkanth hailed Virat Kohli’s knock, he also highlighted Harshit’s powerful caliber.

India subsequently lost their second consecutive series under Shubman Gill’s captaincy. However, this was the first time that India had lost a home series against New Zealand in the 50-over format. However, India’s efforts were deeply praised by the former BCCI selector.

Harshit Rana’s biggest critic Kris Srikkanth had to praise the batsman’s standout innings

Former Indian star Kris Srikkanth, who had been one of Rana’s biggest critics, had to heap praise on the batsman after his tremendous impact with the bat in the second innings in Indore. He started by praising Virat Kohli and then moved on to Rana.

“Virat Kohli is the king of kings. Bow down to him. What a blow! If you look at the scorecard and the fall of the wickets, they were falling continuously. It was 1/28, 2/45, 3/68 and 4/71. Nitish Kumar Reddy came and kept the innings steady and later hit sixes,” Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel.

Rana’s power-hitting had changed the momentum in the Indore game. Rana has always been effective for India when they are chasing runs in the second innings. Srikkanth, however, pointed out that his strike left the opposition players shell-shocked with fear.

“But the real game-changer was Harshit Rana. The way Rana was batting, the New Zealand players were shaking. I was amazed by Rana’s batting and performed at a different level. They were literally shaking and didn’t know what to do. He hit sixes effortlessly and his batting was amazing,” Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel.

After praising Harshit Rana’s efforts, he highlighted Rana’s impact while working with Virat Kohli. He highlighted the fact that the chase seemed to be slipping away until Harshit Rana helped India dominate with their attacking approach.

He also noted that the required run-rate, which had once gone past the 11 runs per over mark, dropped slightly to 10 as Rana was batting ferociously from one end, in addition to Kohli’s reassurance from the other.

“Of the 99 runs that Virat Kohli and Harshit Rana added, Rana made 52. Those 52 runs were crucial and gave Kohli hope even though the asking price was above 11. Rana’s hitting took it down to 10, and New Zealand was scared. The New Zealand captain was also scared,” he added.
