The Phoenix Suns recently received a confirmation of their schedule of 2025-26, and it was one that immediately caused some problems. However, as soon as the dust had arranged with those problems – and with the Suns it will not be any contenders next season – attention quickly turned to when Kevin Durant comes back to Phoenix for the first time.
The date fans have circled in the calendar is Monday 24 November when the Houston Rockets come to the city after the Suns de San Antonio Spurs has played in the same building. If the team will ever be a back-to-back for the second day this season, it will be when Durant goes to court in a rockets sweater.
Suns fans will probably give a standing ovation.
But if that does happen, don’t be surprised if most Suns fans durant cheer for his time in the valley. Wait, what? That’s right, despite not winning a single Play -Ooff Game In his two full seasons with the franchise – and not even even the play – in making – durant will receive a warm welcome from a huge part of the fans.
That’s because for all his mistakes on social media, the soon 37-year-old is one of the best pure hopeers in the history of the competition. An offensive magician who blessed the valley with his scoring skills for a while next to Devin Booker. People have short memories, but those older fans will have reminded the young people that the Suns has usually not been a destination team.

They have never won a championship and do not often attract big nameless agents, so it was huge to get durant if they did. This is still a small market and you cannot blame the Front Office for a chance for a real superstar. It didn’t work, but that is hardly Durant’s fault because he was about 90 percent of the player we know and what he likes.
Instead, it is owner Mat Ishbia and the Front Office who earns the stick because they were unable to build on Durant and Booker, and the acquisition of Bradley Beal means that his own return to footprint center will be viewed much differently. He recently spoke about the fact that he just wanted a ring now that he is at the La Clippers, but that seems far away.
So although Durant’s approval assessment among fans in Phoenix may not be as high as that of Chris Paul – he helped change the structure of the organization before he left – fans will respond well to Durant. All he wanted to do was play basketball and try to win when he was in the city. It is not his fault that most of the teams he was a part could not defend, and the depth was not there to win.
