Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets still have to have substantive conversations about a contract extension after his profession from the Phoenix Suns this season. Durant is currently eligible to sign an extension of $ 118 million of $ 118 million, or he could sign up to $ 120 million in two years six months after the trade that started on January 5, 2026.

“Certainly, I think both parties want that is more than a one -year window. But it will not be a maximum expansion. If that was the priority for Kevin Durant, it would have been done in combination with the trade and he would probably not have ended up in Houston.
“I think you will see both parties a patient approach. They will work together. But again, I don’t think this is an urgent situation. Even if they come to the camp or the beginning of the season, if it is not done, I don’t think you will see panic from both sides.”
Durant is in the last season of his four -year extension of $ 198 million, signed with the Brooklyn Nets in 2021.
