Blackburn Rovers make the trip to top of the table Coventry City this weekend, looking for their first win in three games.

Blackburn Rovers, after three consecutive Championship defeats at Ewood Park at the start of the 2025-26 season, finally got their first result in front of the Lancashire faithful before the October international break. BRFC shared the spoils with Stoke City in a hard-fought draw.

Netherlands Under-21 international Million Manhoef, one of the division’s standout right wingers this season, fired the Potters into the lead last time out. However, a first goal in Rovers colors for substitute Augustus Kargbo saw the hosts claim a point.

With just one win from their last five games in the second tier, head coach Valerien Ismael is coming under increasing pressure at Ewood Park. Blackburn Rovers currently sit precariously in 21st place, just one point ahead of Oxford United in the relegation zone.

Ahead of a tough trip against the league leaders this weekend, BRFC will take confidence from their solid away form this season. The Lancashire team have beaten both Hull City and Watford on the road without conceding a single goal.

Todd Cantwell, who is expected to face continued pressure in the East Midlands against high-flying Coventry City, remains Blackburn’s main creative outlet. The former Rangers midfielder brings valuable experience at this level, having won the Championship twice with Norwich City in 2019 and 2021.
