Kamala Harris endorses NYC Mayoral Candatate Zohran Mamdani while he orther Democrati ‘Stars’ Highles’

Harris, who is currently on tour for her upcoming memoirs ‘107 days’, hopes that Democrats offers support for other rising stars of the party and not just Mamdani.

While some top democrats are silent about their approval for the Felcurid mayor race of New York City, former Vice President Kamala Harris has spoken – conquer democracy, Zohran Mamdani, NPR Reports.

During an interview with Rachel Maddow from MSNBC, Harris opened her thoughts about the race and announced to whom she thinks NYC should support. “Look, as far as I’m concerned, he is the democratic candidate and he should be supported,” she said.

“I support the Democrat in the race, certainly.”

Mamdani came to the fore after a large upset at the former government of New York Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic Primary; His critical views on Israel’s war in Gaza, however, caused a commotion, which encouraged a break when receiving notes from other leaders of his party on a national scale. But not all of them have strayed from supporting the members of the Democratic Socialist Party. The Democratic government of New York Kathy Hochul approved and said that he is “a leader who is aimed at making New York City affordable – a goal that I enthusiastically support.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) also sent notes.

Harris, who is currently on tour for her upcoming memoirs ‘107 days’, hopes that Democrats support for other rising stars of the party, not only Mamdani, has no problem to attract media attention. “He’s not the only star,” said Harris. “He is in New York and I know that New Yorkers think they are the center of the world. … There are people like Barbara Drummond in Mobile, Alabama.

Drummond, a black woman, was the leader in the race for mayor of Mobile, the capital of Alabama. After the Runoff elections of 22 September, however, she lost to the Republican candidate Spiro Cheriogotis, making him the first mayor of the city in 12 years. She had been a representative of Alabama for more than 10 years In addition to holding the title of mobile district commissioner and executive director of administrative services and community matters for the city of Mobile, according to Fox 10.

Her campaign was aimed at building healthy neighborhoods that would help tackle the growing violence in the city. While Harris labeled her a rising star of the party, Drummond also caught the attention of Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock and sent his approval.

Even without extra approval, Mamdani, who would be the first Muslim mayor of the city if they were chosen, has a strong lead in the polls against the current mayor Eric Adams and Republican Curtis Sliwa.
