Gaethje returned to action last weekend in the main event of UFC 324. His opponent was England’s Paddy Pimblett, with the promotion’s interim lightweight title on the line. He won the fight by decision.
Before the fight, Gaethje prepared with many elite training partners. However, he also got a few last-minute tips from the popular AI tool ChatGPT.
Apparently the AI seemed to know who he was and was eager to help his cause.
He explained how he integrated ChatGPT into his training in a video posted to his YouTube channel.
Justin Gaethje used ChatGPT in the lead-up to his UFC 324 title win
😭🤖 Justin Gaethje asked Chat GPT for advice on whether he should take a cold bath before Paddy Pimblett fight and how long he should take a nap:
“My Chat GPT clearly knew I was about to fight. He knows who I am.”

“Earlier today I asked ChatGPT something, and my ChatGPT clearly knows I’m about to fight,” the new UFC champion began. “I wanted to sit in the cold bath, so I thought, ‘How about the cold bath on race day?’ He said, “It’s not a bad idea, but just tell me how you feel.” I said, ‘I feel great.’ He said, “Well, shut up, wait, and trust that your body will do what it needs to do when the time comes.”
That’s not the only thing Gaethje asked ChatGPT about before UFC 325.
“I asked how long I had to nap,” he added. “I wanted to nap for about two hours, he said, ‘Don’t sleep more than 20 minutes – 20, 25 minutes. Then wake up and remind yourself that you’ve done this a million times and tonight is just the loud part.’
After winning the interim title, Gaethje is now expected to unify his title with undisputed champion Ilia Topuria later this year.
