Timber has developed into a key part of Mikel Arteta’s fragile defense, playing as both a right-back and a centre-back. ARSENAL‘ cement themselves as title favorites in the Premier League.
Liverpool, the reigning champions, have struggled with consistency all season, especially at the back, having scored plenty of goals this season. Captain Virgil van Dijk looks a shadow of his former self, while Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure is still keenly felt.
That has led to all kinds of speculation and rumors in the media claiming that Liverpool will once again delve into that transfer window and release a few more players, with Timber possibly on the agenda for boss Arne Slot.
But the Dutchman has come out and reveled in how much Arsenal mean to him. He said: “(I started supporting Arsenal) because my eldest brother was an Arsenal fan. Often you follow those you look up to, so I followed his club.
“I looked ARSENAL a lot when I was young, and finally signing for Arsenal is a dream come true, it was huge.”
“Sometimes you have to go back to that moment, that first moment when you signed, to understand how proud you were when you signed for Arsenal.”
“You know who I liked watching when I was younger? Jack Wilshere. It was Robin van Persie too, of course, but he went to United, so the one I really enjoyed was Jack.”
“He was someone who could do a lot at such a young age. He played with so much courage, he was elegant, such a nice player to watch, he made Arsenal look good.”
“I think it’s about collaboration, not just the backline, I think it’s about everyone. It’s something the club (and) the manager have been working on for a long time.”
“I’m lucky to be part of this group. I can learn every day from the players I play with, many of the defenders, and I think we make each other better.”
“The bar is very high and that is expected every match; we make each other better, keep each other sharp and on our toes.”
