The Road Transport Department (JPJ) is offering motorists a 50% discount to pay outstanding department summonses over a two-month period from November 1 to December 30. Named.
The 50% discount will apply to all summonses issued by the JPJ, excluding summonses that are not eligible for compounding, said JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, who advised members of the public to make payments for the summons at JPJ counters or through available online payment channels.
“The discount applies to all types of summons, except for AWAS (Automated Awareness Safety System) summons), Investigation Notices (114) and Stamped Summonses/JPJ (P)23 Notices (115), which have been in force since the beginning of last year,” Aedy Fadly said.
The discount does not apply to summonses that cannot be aggravated, such as summonses to be taken to court, and no discounts will be offered for summonses issued by the JPJ and police after January 1, he added.
Earlier this month, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced a new one together structure that offers better rates for earlier processing of subpoenas.
