In accordance with the general switch to a cashless, digital service environment, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has officially launched Cashless payment options for its services, so that e-Wallets can be used as a payment resources for transactions at all JPJ counters nationwide with Touch ‘n GO, Mae or Mae or Mae or BOST.
In a statement, the Department said that there had been a positive increase in using transactions without cash from 2024, when it implemented a pilot phase project for IT it it it it JPJ Kuala Lumpur. Since then it has expanded the implementation of this payment method in national phases, with the activation of 1,183 electronic data replacement (EDC) terminal units and the M-Device application with all JPJ counters.

The Department said that in 2024 it registered a total of 43.01 million non-continuous transactions, which was an RM 4.87 billion in collections, and 805 of them were 805 with a total collection of RM73,109.20 made via e-Wallet payments on counterers.
In the meantime, the Department said before 2025 that from 24 August 46.5 million non-continued transaction was registered, collected with RM5.6 billion. Transactions via e-Wallets at Tellers and the MyJPJ application have increased to 245,626, with a total collection of RM19.6 million.
The Department is of the opinion that this implementation will continue to increase the number of transactions without cash with all counters. It said that the initiative will reduce dependence on cash, minimizing the risks for financial security and at the same time the government’s efforts to create a working environment without cash.
