Journalist ‘Forgets’ to mention that she is a fan of Liverpool when she talks about Alexander Isak – embarrassing

Journalist Melissa Reddy talked about the situation of Alexander Isak and Newcastle United (and Liverpool …).

The journalist from South Africa analyzes (see below) the current position only a week and a half before the Premier League season starts.

Melissa Reddy comes to the conclusion that Alexander Isak was done badly for it.

While she also throws crocodile tears for fans of Newcastle United when it comes to the impact on them.

The only/big problem with all this is that Melissa Reddy ‘forgets’ to mention that she is also a fan of Liverpool (see also below).

Absolutely embarrassing that she wants to present herself as a worried independent journalist without a dog in the fight, in contrast to the reality that she is a fan girl in Liverpool who is clearly desperate that Alexander Isak is moving to Anfield.

The reality is that instead of doing things right and to approach Newcastle United at the end of last season, Liverpool wanted to play in the media instead instead to create a situation they hope to take advantage, so that they can get Alexander Isak on the (relatively) cheap. Liverpool waited two months after the transfer window was opened before it applied a distant £ 110 million offer, not the £ 150 million+ Newcastle United valuation that was repeatedly made clear.

As far as Alexander Isak is concerned, he signed more than willingly a six -year contract in August 2022 that still has three years to go and the fans of Newcastle United help to finance his reported £ 6 million+ per seasonal wage.

If Liverpool would be serious to do things to do well to sign Alexander Isak this summer, they would have had informed ‘Newcastle United at the end of May 2025’ Newcastle United that they were formally prepared to pay the full £ 150m+ asking price (*** whatever the NUFC Point.

Melissa Reddy through her personal social media – August 6, 2025:

‘The frustration for Alexander Isak and his camp is that they have the feeling that they have informed Newcastle very clearly and respectfully from the desire of the attacker to explore a new challenge well before this summer. In addition, it offered the club the opportunity to attack the market on the front foot and secure a quality replacement long before it came to this messy point. It is not the fault of Isak that Newcastle has had a mare who misses so many of their top goals. If there is something, it probably prevents the belief that their approach and ambition do not match his. There is no solid recruitment foundation.

I feel sorry for Eddie Howe, the players and the supporters; Newcastle is in the Champions League for the second time in three years and has protected their first domestic trophy for 70 years, but they are a structural mess outside the field.

Many in the club point to the power struggle that Ghodoussi and Staveley drove as the root of different issues, especially the lack of communication and human touch with the exit of the latter.

Given how this window has disappeared, can Newcastle actually land a replacement for Isak? If they force him to stay, can they get the maximum out of him without that human touch? If they sell it, can they be familiar to want to invest a British record sum wisely? ‘

Melissa Reddy interviewed by the official Liverpool website 12 years ago and asked why she was a fan of Liverpool, even though she was born and grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa – March 26, 2023:

“I think Liverpool has chosen me more than anything. There was immediately an attraction, a feeling of connectedness and a club that just shouted ‘at home’ as soon as I started watching football. ‘

“South African red are fiercely passionate.”

“In South Africa, like most places in the world, I imagine that the rivalry of Liverpool with Man United is the biggest plot …”

“I sat, screaming, jumped, danced and cried for three hours after we won the Champions League final of 2004-05 …”
