Following Manchester United’s humiliating exit from the Carabao Cup, the number of matches the team will play has dropped drastically.

Until the start of the FA Cup, the Red Devils only have the Premier League to play for. And although Ruben Amorim is happy with the extra training time, several players suffer from the lack of playing time.

Joshua Zirkzee, who started fifteen times under the head coach last season, has not played a single match so far this season.

He has seen 82 minutes of action in total and remained an unused substitute in last weekend’s win over Sunderland.

Joshua Zirkzee is having a hard time

The 24-year-old has been left frustrated by the lack of minutes, with numerous reports suggesting he is ready to part ways as early as January.

With the World Cup just around the corner, the ex-Bologna CEO hopes to return to the Dutch national team and for this he will have to play regularly.

Several Serie A clubs and English top clubs are prepared to put a point on the Dutchman, but as per Give me sportAmorim doesn’t want him to leave.

In fact, United have no intention of sanctioning a departure in the winter window and next summer they will only entertain offers in excess of £43 million, the money they spent to bring him to the Theater of Dreams in 2024.

“Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee is ready to leave the club in the January transfer window even though manager Ruben Amorim wants him to stay, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed on the Market Madness podcast.

Amorim’s plans

“According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Zirkzee is willing to leave Manchester United when the January transfer window opens, but manager Amorim wants him to stay at Old Trafford for the second half of the season.

“United are reluctant to sanction a departure for Zirkzee in January, and a permanent sale is unlikely to take place due to a book loss just 18 months after they paid Bologna £43 million to secure his signature.”

With Benjamin Sesko at the club, Joshua Zirkzee is unlikely to get too many minutes up front, with Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount ahead of him in the pecking order when it comes to the number 10 role.

His collaborative play impressed fans, but there is no clear role for him at the moment, and it will be interesting to see what happens with him when the window opens again in January.
