RB continues to “fight through” knee injury
The nature of Josh Jacobs’ physical running style means the Packers tailback may have to battle through a knee injury for the remainder of this season. The Packers got a reminder of that early in their game against the Broncos. Jacobs took a shot in the knee during a short-yardage run in the first quarter. LaFleur did not say on which run the contact occurred, but Jacobs took a shot at his knees against Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga on a third-and-1 throw to the left side. Hufanga dropped Jacobs for a two-yard loss after blowing up a block at the rim. Jacobs bent over after standing up and appeared to be in pain. “He’s fighting through it,” LaFleur said. “This guy is as tough as they come. So I’ll never count him out of contention, I’ll tell you that. But if we were practicing today, there’s no way he would be practicing. (PackersNews.com)
FF Today’s recording: The Packers held a walkthrough on Tuesday and submitted an assessment of a practice report as a result. The fact that Jacobs wouldn’t have practiced even if the Packers held a practice is notable, though it doesn’t exactly constitute a cause for concern – especially for the managers who have Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson on their roster. Assuming Jacobs is ready for Saturday’s game as expected, consider him a solid RB1 who is a bit riskier than normal given his knee issue.
