In the last event of the Liv golf season, Jon Rahm was finally on top of the stage.
After a season in which the Spaniard has not earned any individual title, Rahm (together with his Legion XIII teammates) is still driven into Champagne in the low season after winning the seasonal team title in Liv Michigan on Sunday.
The team title comes a week after Rahm claimed the individual seasonal crown in Liv Indianapolis, which generated a lot of controversy. As mentioned earlier, Rahm did not earn any individual tournament win in his 2025 campaign. But despite this lack of hardware, his consistency (11 top 10 in 12 starts) was sufficient to earn the necessary points to exceed Joaquin Niemann’s total, which was encouraged by five own victories.
Many experts doubted the legitimacy of the season -hose title of Rahm without individual victories to his name. But after he helped his Legion XIII team to win the team title, he believes that the controversy can be brought to bed.
“If there was ever a question mark or an asterisk because he had won the entire season without winning, in mind, it will go away,” he said. “It is a lot of validation for all of us, in my mind, for the team, how well we did all year, and to get it done, stressful, but we did it, and I wouldn’t want it in any other way.”
Rahm’s team defeated Bryson Dechambeau’s Crushers GC in a play -off Sunday. The win marks Legion XIII’s first team championship after the expansion season in 2024, and Caps a season in which Rahm, together with teammates Tyrrell Hatton, Tom Mckibbin and Caleb Surratt, won five times as a team.
“It was really fun to do and fun to be part of it,” said Rahm. “I would not want to share this moment with someone else.”
Rahm may not have hosted a trophy in 2025, but this time and time again as part of a team for a good of a consolation prize.
“It’s a great feeling,” said Rahm. “It’s a long year ago. I’m glad I finally won a play -off and I couldn’t be them more proud.”
