Pereira is the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion. He also previously held middleweight gold. Jones, on the other hand, is a former heavyweight and light heavyweight champion. Despite Jones retiring after a win over Stipe Miocic in 2024, he and Pereira have recently been linked to a big fight at the upcoming UFC White House event. The event, scheduled for January 14, is a celebration of Donald Trump’s 80th birthday and America’s 250th birthday. It’s expected to be one of the biggest in UFC history.
At the moment there are only rumors of a fight between Jones and Pereira. However, Pereira recently dropped a huge hint that the fight is in the works.
The light heavyweight champion recently visited the tire shop where he worked in Brazil. He filmed some content there, and in one shot, fans quickly noticed the words “next Jones” on one of the tapes (see that here).
Jon Jones responds to Alex Pereira teasing UFC superfight
It didn’t take long for Jones to understand Pereira’s message.
He did not refute what his fellow UFC legend said, but advised the Brazilian to be careful what he wishes for.
