UFC Great Jon Jones had some nice words for Khamzat Chimaev for his upcoming title fight on UFC 319 recently, a reporter Jones announced that Chimaev regards him the “scariest man in MMA” – a high compliment, especially from someone who is often considered the scariest hunter himself.
The meaning was not lost on Jones, who himself responded with flattery.
“That is a huge compliment from Khamzat,” said Jones. He continued: “Heavyweights fear him. The fact that he has so much respect really means a lot. It shows me a lot about his character and humility.”
Khamzat is not only in his opinion. He shares the company of many UFC legends that have similar things to say Jon Jones.

Jon Jones is a very division among MMA fans. What has never been questioned is his greatness in the cage. Despite run-ins with the law and suspensions, Jagers have always respected Jon Jones’ assets. Other greats agree. Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson once said: “Jon Jones must be number 1 for me. His title line, I have seen him train how he has defeated so many great light heavyweights. Then it starts to be cloudy, I’m not going to lie.”
Another UFC goat, Georges “Rush” St-Pierre, stated in an interview: “If you ask me, in terms of where we are now, I think it’s hard to find someone better than Jon Jones.” He added: “Jon Jones is extremely talented, but also extremely difficult. People have no idea how difficult he is. I have trained with him, see him go through the grinding. He is so tough.”
Famous said Khabib’s father, the deceased great trainer Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov,: “Jon Jones received his tablet from God, not from Greg Jackson. Jon Jones is number one of all hunters.” Khamzat is only the next in a list of great hunters of all time who praises the greatness that once Jon Jones was.
