Joaquin Buckley has issued a fiery warning to Shavkat Rakhmonov. The two UFC fighters have been attacking each other non-stop on social media.
Buckley claims he has been calling out Rakhmonov for a year now, and this time against the latter “The final destination has been determined.” He asked ‘Nomad’ to sign the contract and claims that the 31-year-old has never met anyone superior strength, speed and pressure like ‘New Mansa.’
On one of Buckley’s Instagram posts, Rakhmonov recently joked:
“Black boy, you’re getting beat up 👊🏽”
Buckley took this comment seriously and fired back at “Nomad” through several social media posts. He stated in one of those clips:
“Shavkat, I heard you talking about a black boy. I’m going to show you the damn boy. I’m going to show you where the fuck we came from, how long we’ve been struggling, how long we’ve been robbed, but how long we’ve got to get up… I’m going to kick your ass. Shavkat, if you don’t sign, moth*****ker, someone else is going to die.”

Buckley’s rise in the 170-pound division was discontinued earlier this year by Kamaru Usman. However, the 31-year-old power striker is keen to return to winning ways and wants to take on Shavkat Rakhmonov.
The undefeated Kazakh fighter, on the other hand, is sidelined after his victory over Ian Machado Garry. However, it could still be weeks before he returns to the UFC and he has already called up champion Islam Makhachev.
Shavkat Rakhmonov does not consider Ian Machado Garry a worthy title challenger
After being the first man to take Ian Machado Garry’s 0, Shavkat Rakhmonov is sidelined due to injury. On the other hand, Garry has a short-notice win over Carlos Prates in 2025 and recently defeated Belal Muhammad at UFC Qatar.
‘The Future’ has also called up champion Islam Makhachev. However, Rakhmonov does not consider the Irishman a worthy title challenger. He posted on X.
No nonsense, just facts: Ian Garry lost to me while I was injured. He hasn’t finished anyone in his last six fights and Prates almost stopped him. Doesn’t seem like the number 1 candidate to me.”

In 2024, Rakhmonov was scheduled to fight then-champion Belal Muhammad at UFC 310. However, Muhammad withdrew from the fight due to a bone infection.
When Rakhmonov was on the sidelines due to his injury after the fight with Ian Machado Garry, Mohammed lost his title to Jack Della Maddalena. Della Maddalena’s reign ended too soon, however, as the Australian was dethroned at UFC 322.
Rumor has it that newly minted 170-pound champion Makhachev will fight former champion Kamaru Usman next. On the other hand, Rakhmonov, Garry, Prates and Michael Morales are also looking for a title shot, making it difficult for the matchmakers to decide who the next welterweight title challenger should be.
