Manchester United have raided some of Europe’s biggest clubs in recent years to strengthen their youth academy.
In 2020, United signed Marc Jurado, Alejandro Garnacho and Alvaro Carreras from Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid respectively. More recently, they convinced Arsenal duo Chido Obi and Ayden Heaven to move to Manchester.
The Red Devils’ efforts to attract the best emerging talents have further intensified after Ineos took control of football operations at Old Trafford. However, a European power is now trying to snatch a Carrington gem from their grasp.
Real Madrid would like to sign Gabriel
According to TransfersReal Madrid have set their sights on JJ Gabriel, who has been nicknamed ‘Kid Messi’ for his mesmerizing manipulation of the ball.
At just 15 years old, Gabriel is setting the stage on fire with his performances for the U18s, having been involved in 11 goals in nine appearances so far.
It is claimed that Real have identified the gifted striker as one of football’s future stars.
Furthermore, there is a belief in the Spanish capital that Los Blancos could provide the young sensation with an ideal environment to develop and eventually break into the first team at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Spanish outlet also reports that Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also interested in Gabriel.
Man United are doing their best to keep Gabriel
United, meanwhile, are determined to secure their long-term future at Old Trafford.
According to the Manchester Evening NewsGabriel was about to leave the Mancunians in the summer.
It is believed that talks have been held with a European giant. However, an eleventh-hour meeting involving Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada led to an agreement for the teenager to remain in Manchester for at least another two years.
United thought so highly of Gabriel that they recently introduced him to first-team head coach Ruben Amorim, who spent time discussing his philosophy and emphasizing the importance of hard work in training.
