New York Jets Wide recipient Josh Reynolds was shot in the back of the head and the leg in October 2024 in what is now classified as a case of incorrect identity.
The NFL player, when a member of the Denver Broncos, was injured in a shooting on October 18, 2024, when he and two other persons were shot during a chase by various suspects who wrongly believed that the trio was involved in a drug deal, The Denver Post reported, with reference to judicial documents.

The suspects mistakenly identified the Reynolds group as the persons involved in an earlier drug deal where $ 250,000 was used in counterfeit money to buy cocaine. According to the court reports, the suspects examined the group in a strip club in Glendale the night of the shooting before they followed them and shoot them during a chase.

No fewer than four vehicles were involved in the Chase, De Denver Post reported.
In a statement to Fox News Digital at that time, The Broncos confirmed that Reynolds was injured in a shooting.
“Josh Reynolds was the victim of a shooting on Friday in Denver and received a treatment for minor injuries,” said the statement. “Out of respect for the legal process, we will further comment on this matter to the authorities.”
